The medieval wargame of 1981
Knights, archers, angry peasants: every counter is a man with a name. First fight: a street brawl in the village.
Each side plays in turn, in three steps, then hands over.
Archers and crossbowmen take aim. The line of fire is shown, with the target's cover.
Every hex shows the risk of slipping past an enemy: sneak through, or go around.
Attack alone or together. Odds and terrain decide, the die settles it.
Giles has insulted Baker. In the village, two clans settle their scores. The last man standing wins.

cryhavochall@gmail.comCry Havoc Hall is an unofficial, entirely non-commercial fan site, made as a tribute to the original 1981 Cry Havoc, designed by Gary Chalk and published by Standard Games. Its only purpose is to let players face each other online on this classic game: nothing is sold here. A new edition, Cry Havoc Remastered, was released in 2026 by Footsore Miniatures, with Gary Chalk; if you enjoy the game, please consider supporting it. Thanks to the rights holders of Cry Havoc, who allowed the rules, maps and counters to be downloaded for free on the Internet and players to share their own artwork. And many thanks to the Cry Havoc Fan site, without which this game would probably not have survived to this day.
